There was good news for the Ballymena Saturday Morning League (BSML) this week as organisers announced that they had secured local natural gas company, firmus energy, as the main sponsor for all three Divisions of the BSML for the 2014/15 season.
The top partnership with firmus energy follows the natural gas company’s support of last season’s Top Four Final which drew a very large crowd to the Showgrounds. The league will now be renamed ‘firmus energy Ballymena Saturday Morning League’.
League Secretary Brian Montgomery is delighted to have such a progressive company backing the BSML. Not only will firmus energy sponsor the winners’ mementoes, they will also introduce a ‘Player of the Month’ award in all the three Divisions throughout the season.
David King, BSML Chairman, who described this sponsorship deal as one of the best in Northern Ireland Junior Football, is pleased with the new ‘Player of the Month’ offering and believes that the footballers will benefit from this extra motivation as they compete for the much coveted accolade.
firmus energy’s David Fusco, who was at the sponsorship launch on Thursday 17 July at Ballymena Showgrounds, commented: “After our successful sponsorship of the Top Four final last season, we are delighted to take this partnership with the BSML further this season. I also know on a personal level how important it is for the BSML to secure such a high level support as I play in the league and have first-hand experience of the passion and hard work that goes into running it and the need for extra resources to maintain its success.
“firmus energy has been active in the Ballymena area since 2005 and now supplies natural gas to over 2,200 homes and businesses including household names such as Moy Park, Dale Farm and Michelin. Sponsoring the BSML is an opportunity to support the local community and to give back to the area. In existence for 46 years, the BSML has truly cemented its place in the heart of the community and is an important platform for young players to develop into senior footballers. We hope that by working together, we can help to strengthen the league and we look forward to ‘kicking off’ our support this season.”
