Increasing awareness of energy efficiency
Energy Aware Week, which runs from 13th-19th October, is a Northern Ireland initiative supported by companies from across the energy sector to increase awareness of energy efficiency and provide homeowners with practical help and advice to make their energy go further. The ten partners have worked jointly on a province wide campaign to make homeowners aware of how they can make a difference in their home and where they can access grants and funding to help them make the necessary upgrades.
Making your household energy go further
During the campaign week the partners will be involved in local initiatives and schemes, including free energy efficiency seminars that will offer homeowners the unique opportunity to find out what they can do to make their household energy go further.
Noel Rice, Housing Executive Energy Conservation Unit, is an advocate of the campaign, and commented:
"Energy efficiency in the home has become increasingly important and there are some fantastic grants and schemes available to homeowners at the moment to help them improve their energy efficiency. This campaign will provide information on where to access grants as well as practical advice that all households can make use of. I would encourage local people to visit the website and find out what measures they can take to make their energy go further and book their free place at one of the seminars."
