Hundreds of children and their families enjoyed a fun evening at Moira Primary School which recently took place to celebrate the end of the school year as well as to raise vital funds for the school.
Mrs Mairs, principal of Moira Primary School, commented: “We are delighted that so many people from the local community came out and supported the Fun Evening at the school and we were very lucky to have glorious sunshine! The event raised a fantastic £3822, which will go towards purchasing equipment for the school.
“We have a very active and dedicated PTA and I would like to extend my thanks to all of the team who organised this fantastic event. We had hundreds of people through the doors on Friday night and visitors enjoyed fun activities including bouncy castles, pony rides, netball and sponge throwing! There were stalls with something for everyone from local crafters, books and toys to delicious food of all varieties.
“I would also like to thank firmus energy, who kindly supported the Fun Evening by providing prizes for our children’s poster competition, which advertised the event locally. We are very grateful to them for also coming along on the night and taking a stand at the event.”
Angeline Murphy from firmus energy, commented: “Moira Primary School certainly knows how to put on a Fun Evening! The atmosphere was just brilliant and everyone was smiling in the wonderful sunshine. It was lovely to meet visitors at the event, and with us expanding our network in the town, many were keen to hear about how they could get access to natural gas. However, for those who didn’t get a chance to pop over to see us and would like to know if they can connect to this practical fuel, which is newly available in Moira.”
