firmus energy employees all undergo specialist training

Natural gas supplier, firmus energy, recognised 27 of their employees, who received the specialist energy efficiency advice qualification provided by National Energy Action (NEA), the charity working to eradicate fuel poverty.

Sue Robinson, HR Manager for firmus energy explained: “This year, a total of 27 of our employees have undergone the NEA/City and Guilds Energy Awareness training delivered by NEA and all achieved the qualification which is accredited by City & Guilds. This now means that all of our 100 staff have the Energy Awareness qualification, which is unique for an energy firm in the whole of the UK.

“As a proactive company we made a commitment at an early stage to ensure that each and every one of our employees undertakes this specialist training. This course has already enabled our team members to provide comprehensive energy efficiency advice to customers, which can undoubtedly help them save money and ultimately reduce their fuel bills over time.”

Pat Austin with fuel poverty charity NEA Northern Ireland, said: “Energy efficiency measures such as heating and insulation will make your home warmer and changing behaviour to use energy more efficiently may even save you money.

“With many families finding it harder than ever to make ends meet, it is extremely important that they are provided with the advice and information that could help them minimise energy consumption and reduce energy waste.  The NEA/City and Guilds Energy Awareness Qualification enables firmus energy employees to provide appropriate advice and information in an accurate, professional and easy-to-understand way.

“We congratulate these candidates on achieving the qualification, as well as the foresight of firmus energy, in training staff to recognised standards.”
