Connecting to firmus energy

Quick and easy connection to natural gas

The connection process is quick and easy with minimal disruption to your business.

Week 1-4  Design appraisal & approval

Project will be estimated and installation costs will be finalised. You can agree a suitable meter point location with your firmus energy commercial rep. You can start requesting quotations from Gas Safe Registered Installers, for connecting your business to
natural gas.

Week 5 - Installation costs

Agree installation costs with your Gas Safe Registered Installer. You can find a full list of Gas Safe Registered Installers or
call 0330 024 9000 and we’ll send one out to you.

Week 5 - Sign the Gas Application Form (GAF)

Your local firmus energy commercial rep will be in touch once the project gets full firmus approval. You will need to sign your gas application form and all relevant paperwork and your firmus energy commercial rep will walk you through the forms.

Week 5 - Provide existing utility drawings

You will be required to provide a site drawing showing the existing utilities, if you can not provide this drawing a risk assessment will be needed.  This will usually be completed within two weeks of completed your application forms.

Week 6 - Fitting your meter

Within four to six weeks of receipt of your gas application forms, or from your risk assessment was completed, our contractor will contact you about fitting your meter which will connect your business to the gas network. Our contractor McNicholas construction will also contact the Department of Regional Development (DRD) to agree a suitable connection date. They’ll notify you three or four days in advance of the work commencing and discuss any special requirements.

Week 7-8 Contact your Gas Safe Registered Installer

Once your meter has been fitted contact your chosen Gas Safe Registered Installer to schedule a start date for the gas conversion work to commence.
